• NIT Silchar is a Deemed University under the Ministry of Human Resource and Development.

• The Institute has been identified as a Centre of Excellence by the Government of India.

• It is situated on a sprawling campus spread over 600 acres of land on the outskirts of Silchar amid breathtaking scenery.

• NIT Silchar also has a hard court for playing basketball and is provided with hard courts for playing Volleyball and Badminton. It has got a Lawn Tennis court within the campus.
